Take a look at a house for sale in Hollywood, a densely populated, economically diverse melting pot and retail business district. Though Hollywood has cleaned up its act in the last few years, it’s still a hodgepodge of neighborhoods. Ethnic enclaves like Thai Town and Little Armenia provide the most fun and best food, but tourists still flock to the Hollywood and Highland area, where they’re happy taking pictures with Superman and Jack Sparrow. Still, they make room at night for Hollywood’s latest “elegant” clubs, where velvet ropes open for anyone willing to pay for bottle services.

The star-marked length of Hollywood Boulevard will always remain seedy—although it’s nothing like Pretty Woman. Today there are tacky souvenir shops, adult stores, nightclubs, and a few good restaurants and bars. For the best time in Hollywood, get off of the Boulevard itself, but don’t miss its great Sunday Farmer’s Market. In the summer, catch a movie among the tombstones at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Hollywood is the home of the US film industry, including several of its historic studios. Attractions include Universal Studios, the Dolby Theater, Arc Light, El Capitan Theater, Pantages Theater, the Roosevelt Hotel, and Gibson Amphitheater at the popular Universal CityWalk.
